Sarah Siskind---Live at The Living Room NYC

What is it: Female vocalist accompanied by electric guitar
Labels-Genres-Opinions: Americana, Folk, Electric-folk, Rocka-folk, Alt-Country, Folk-Indie

I love live albums. I think hearing the crowd noises really contributes to the listening experience I enjoy when consuming new music. As I'm listening to this CD I was thinking wow, she would really mesh with Bonnie Raitt well only for the intro of Lovin's For Fools to inform me that Bonnie Raitt covers this song. Strong lyrics that make you think are surrounded by good vocal tones and well-placed instrumentation. After having caught a vlog of Sarah's I googled her and found this free EP from her website here downloaded it and immediately clicked over to my preferred digital download location and bought her 2009 release, Say It Louder. I'm sure it will be equally awesome. This EP is the perfect length to accompany my lunch today and I hope to burn it onto the same CD as her full length when it finishes downloading from emusic.

To Travels and Trunks

Okay...I know this CD came out LAST YEAR. But it is awesome and I was cleaning my desk and found this review all handwritten and in need of polish. Buying it on itunes might tide you over but get the physical CD, the artwork is great.

Horns, guitars, violins, drums, keyboards, clapping, bass, symbols and bells - there is no way you can listen to this CD and be bored. I can't even remember the release date on this album because I've had it so long...on the other hand, I keep playing it and haven't gotten tired of it yet.

To Travels and Trunks' title track declares, "all I want is love eternally," one of many simple concrete truths that pepper the album. Not only are all of the songs lyrically interesting but they cover the full range of love: songs of dedication, waiting, anticipation, adoration and everything in between.

Listening to this album leaves you hoping for the day you'll have someone love you like these songs are written.

Random Tidbit of Awesomeness: Clapping along to Rio while in traffic.
Favorite Song Line: Wait for moonlight to dance with the hills. - Calabasas
Album Vibe: warm and fuzzy, hoping and positive, leaves a happy aftertaste in my head.
